Uber is a company that transports people to where they want to go and it is much like a taxi cab. However, the problem of finding a specific passenger that asked for their assistance in a crowd can be difficult. It seems Uber has taken the first step in fixing this problem as they have announced their new feature that will emit a visual signal for passengers to find their cars easier.
UBER ANNOUNCES THEIR FEATURE NAMED SPOT
Uber has stated that their new feature, named SPOT, will use color functionality to help passengers find their correct car. They stated how the people who use it must install a colored LED light on their windshield. They then say that the passenger can tap a color button on their app and that they can match it with the corresponding car. This will prevent users the hassle of entering the wrong car and being embarrassed.
THIS SHOULD ME MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT UBER PREVIOUSLY DID
This new color LED feature should improve on what they used to have passengers do to find them. Before this, passengers had to depend on looking for a generic car with no distinction. The license plate was also a way to find the right car, but that can be extremely inconvenient. Seeing an emulating light from the cars should give passengers an easier time to find their specific car.
UBER IS TESTING THIS RIGHT NOW
Uber has announced that they are going to be testing these SPOT lights in Seattle. They want to make sure that this will work and that this will make things more convenient for their passengers. As with any company, the happier the customers are the happier the company is. They also state that they would like to improve on the time that it takes for their drivers to pick up their passengers. If testing goes well, this SPOT light could soon hit more markets.
