Ford drivers will now be able to use Siri Eyes in their cars. It was announced by the director of Ford Electronics and Electrical Systems Engineering, Sherif Marakby, that their Sync version 3.8 update would implement the software Siri in its cars. It was also announced that this will be compatible with vehicles that have second-generation Sync hardware.
HOW SIRI EYES WILL BE USED IN FORD CARS
Marakby announced just how this will work. Marakby states that there will be a button mounted on the steering wheel that will work just like the home function would on any iPhone. He continued and explained all of the features that will be available for their Ford car users. Phone calls can be placed, maps can be viewed for directions, text messages can be received, reminders can be set, music can be played, and any information that is needed can be acquired. He concluded by saying that they want their drivers to get the most out of their smartphones.
SIRI EYES SHOWS THE NEW GENERATION OF DRIVING
Driving cars is certainly different than it was 30 years ago. Technology is so engraved in the world today that anywhere you look it can be found. This is especially the case with vehicles in the current generation. However, this announcement of Siri Eyes in Ford cars is even beyond the current generation. The world is seeing what the new generation of vehicles could have in store. The amazing thing to think of is this is probably just an appetizer of things to come in the future.
NEW SIRI EYES MAY BE A SAFER WAY TO COMMUNICATE
Many accidents are caused by people who were on their phones at the time. Texas A&M University did a study and it showed that 1 in every 4 car accidents is due to cell phones. Now with Siri Eyes, it may allow drivers to focus their attention more on the road given that everything can be done via voice command. This will not stop accidents altogether, but it may help decrease the amount of them.
