The European Space Agency’s XXM-Newton X-Ray observatory has spotted something that leads scientists to believe the whole universe is held by of hot gas and dark matter. These three huge masses of hot gas were floating to a bunch of galaxies, revealing a few new ways of understanding the nature of our universe.
Does Our Universe Have A Huge Cosmic Skeleton?
If the observations hold any truth, it’s possible that this cosmic web of hot gas and dark matter runs throughout all of our Universe and cannot be seen by the human eye. The study conducted through ESA’s XMM-Newton X-Ray observatory has observed a number of filaments, focusing especially on Abell 2744, otherwise known as the Pandora Cluster. This specific cluster gave them an interesting sight: they spotted live structures of hot gas that looked to be linking to the cluster’s core.
This is the First Time Hot Gas Has Been Spotted in the Cosmic Web
The team of scientists set out to implement a series of predictions according to the structure of the cosmic web as they saw it, and they measured the density and temperatures of the gas in the web to compare. They are in agreement, which means that our entire universe is suspended in this body of hot gas, dark matter and some other kind of matter that we haven’t yet discovered.Naturally, this study will be much more closely monitored from now on, and followed up to discover the intricacies of our universe.
