It seems like the domain The Pirate Bay is being blocked in several countries across the world. For anyone who does not know, it is an online torrent site for users to download torrent files. Now, mostly in Europe, it is being blocked in certain countries.
WHY THE PIRATE BAY IS BEING BLOCKED
The Commercial Court of Vienna has officially ordered that local ISP’s must stop subscribers from accessing any torrents from The Pirate Bay. Austria announced that they were also going to take similar action in stopping access to the torrent site. They mentioned how some of the problems with the site is it was unintentionally infringing on Austrian censorship. Torrent sites can always be risky for users to use anyway because they can carry malware and viruses.
THE PIRATE BAY ISSUE BEING RESOLVED
This is an ongoing issue and is attempting to be fixed at the moment as UPC spokesman Jaroslav Kolar states. Not much information has been revealed on what is going to be done or the time table on when it will happen. The Pirate Bay is a very popular torrent site and it can be assumed that this issue will resolve quickly.
THE PIRATE BAY IS DANGEROUS ANYWAY
As mentioned earlier, torrent sites are sites that should be used with great caution. Many torrent files, when downloaded, will also bring with them malware. So, with the people who do not have an anti-malware software that has real-time protection it can be dangerous. Real-time protection means that the software will detect the malware as soon as it sees it on the computer. Malware can destroy a computer and it can do it very quickly. It will also reveal private information that people do not want to be exposed. So, even if The Pirate Bay comes back to Europe, people may want to avoid it anyway.
