For the people who thought that the Batman car, or the Batmobile, was only a science fiction vehicle you might want to pay attention. McLaren has officially announced their newest idea for a Formula 1 car and it is named the McLaren MP4-X. They have not said they are making a Batmobile clone, but it sure looks close to it!
THE MCLAREN MP4-X IS THE CAR OF THE FUTURE
McLaren has gone on record as to saying that all the technology that is being applied to their MP4-X is all real. However, they did mention that the technology was in its early stages. They also mentioned that there are indeed some features that could be considered science fiction. They state that they would like to implement a system that would allow the car to drive itself. Self-driving cars have been talked about for a while and there are some companies that have actually started developing them. McLaren has also stated that they would like the MP4-X to be even more powerful with wind tunnels on the under-body. They also said they would like to add electrodes to the car to turn the surrounding air into plasma. This would give the McLaren even more power!
WHY THE MCLAREN MP4-X RESEMBLES THE BATMOBILE
The whole reason this looks like a Batmobile clone is because of the exterior. The company has said that they wanted to add protective structures to their car. There was also a quote from F1 driver Jenson Button. He stated how the industry has got to get a canopy on these cars to prevent all of the accidents that have been happening. The structure is used for safety, but it resembles every Batman fan’s fantasy of seeing a Batmobile.
THE MCLAREN MP4-X SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE AMAZING
As the company has said, the technology that the vehicle is using is in its earliest stages and will take some time to develop. One thing about technology is that it will always continue to improve and eventually this car will come to fruition. It is only a matter of time and when it comes, the world may see the Batmobile’s understudy!
