A new Internet service is on its way and its name is Google Fiber. This is currently available in only three cities in the Unites States. However, six more cities are soon to get its service. The most mind-blowing aspect that this has is 1 gigabyte of internet speed. Yes, that was read correctly.
GOOGLE FIBER IS LOOKING IMPRESSIVE
This new Internet service is not going to free, unfortunately, but what is. The starting cost of Google Fiber is $70 a month which will eventually bump up to $130, with 150 TV channels. That is not a cheap price, but when it is considered what its speed is it makes sense. As mentioned earlier, the Internet speed is 1 gigabyte per second. Let’s put that into perspective.
Many Internet providers offer around 60 MBPS of speed. That is a pretty fast speed and does a very good job. There are 1,024 megabytes in one gigabyte. What this means is that the speed of Google Fiber is 1024 MBPS. That is utterly amazing and is hard to believe. It can not even be imagined how fast that is. This will also increase downloading speed by over 100. You can pick your jaw off the floor now because this is not invalid information.
UNKNOWN IF GOOGLE FIBER EXPANDS EVERYWHERE
As of right now, the major cities in the US are trying to get this service, but nobody on the team who created this would comment on how long that would take. There is no doubt that the major cities will be targeted first given that they will receive the most traffic from them. It will not benefit them to have small nonmarket cities use their service. However, those who live in smaller cities are going to be jealous because Google Fiber could annihilate any other Internet service in the world.
