Honda has declared that the new Ridgeline is going to turn a few heads, and has set the price of the new Acura NSX supercar at $156,000 once it hits dealerships in 2016. With the official release date on February 25, Honda adds a very pricey car to their roster.
New Acura NSX Has a Redesigned Precision Concept
The 2017 Acura NSX supercar was first unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. The starting price of the car is at around $156,000, and the top price for the vehicle is at about $206,000.
New Honda Ridgeline Will Be Featured on Super Bowl 50
The new Honda Ridgeline, on the other hand, is bringing innovation to fuel efficiency for the black pickup. The new design is a lot bulkier than previous models. This comes from the changing trend in the midsize pickup class. The Ridgeline’s highest competitors right now are the Chevrolet Colorado, the GMC Canyon, the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier. Having first debuted in 2005, the Honda Ridgeline hasn’t quite caught on to the competitive front. Because of this, Honda is releasing a teaser commercial at the Super Bowl 50 that shows the world the new face of the Honda Ridgeline.
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is going on sale in America in June of 2016, and it will be assembled at the Honda plants in Alabama. The Super Bowl is probably the best place to tease a new car since the midsize pickup is a fairly popular car class in the United States. Honda has a lot of headway in light trucks, so this will work to their advantage.
Acura Will Tease at A Precision Concept Luxury Sedan at January 2016 Detroit Auto Show
Meanwhile, Acura will be unveiling a new luxury sedan in January. This car is set to be closer to the performance oriented kind of car, geared towards being green. The teaser images of the car reveal only the surface of the vehicle, but it’s supposed to set trends for the car maker’s next generation of cars.
Even Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld Want to Get their Hands on the Acura NSX
The upcoming Acura NSX is the first sports car the brand has made since the early 1990s, and it’s a very welcome update that has garnered a lot of attention. Even celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno have declared they want to buy the new NSX, and Honda has announced they’ll be auctioning off the very first car made.
This will naturally go off to the highest bidder. The auction for the car will be hosted by Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona on the last week of January. All proceeds will be going to two children’s charities. After that, the public will have to wait until February 25, when the car goes on sale at Acura.com. Only 800 of the cars will be made in total, so demand is going to be very high. This car will be built in Marysville, Ohio, at Honda’s manufacturing campus.
2016 Will Be An Exciting Year for Honda
Many car makers will enjoy a splendid year, and Honda will likely be one of them. After bouncing back from the Takata airbag scandal, Honda is setting gears to make this a very good year. The race to make the best clean energy vehicle is also on, and the new Acura NSX will be a high contender for the title.
The Race for the Best Electric Car is On
All in all, it’s going to be very exciting for Honda, and very exciting for their supporters. The Japanese company will be having a very special, potentially perilous year as more and more luxury brands start to release hybrid and electric cars. The quality that Acura brings, though, stays with their loyal clients. That is not likely to change anytime soon.
