In just a few short days, Samsung will be announcing the latest addition the Galaxy family. The appropriately named S7 and S7 Edge will feature some exciting new concepts due to some leaked information. Apple has their own rumor mill spinning as well with the iPhone 7. In the age old debate that seems to waiver each year, who will take to the top spot with their latest releases?
SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EMBRACES THE OLD AND THE NEW
In terms of the physical, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy will look extremely similar to its predecessor the S6. All the same basic colors will be available and buttons, ports and camera seem to be in the same place. As the cliche goes, if it ain’t broke… Apple, on the other hand, is making some drastic changes, and people aren’t wild about it. Among these is the removal of the headphone jack. Users will have to buy their own device for the iPhone if they want to use their headphones. An additional cost for an already pricey item. Points lost there.
APPLE IPHONE BATTERY IMPROVEMENTS MAY NOT BE ENOUGH
Complaints from Apple users regarding battery life have long been common. Even with the iPhone 7’s supposed improvements, it won’t be enough to match that of the Samsung Galaxy. Rumors say the S7 can last up to five days. That is massively better than any smartphone on the market and will surely be a big persuader for those looking to switch.
ADDITION OF MICROSD MAY BE THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN
In terms of display and specs, it seems that both the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy will be bringing the latest technologies to the table. The secret weapon for the Galaxy, however, is the addition of microSD. With previous versions, Samsung removed the compatibility for microSD and saw consumers move to other competitors. People preferred the iPhone 6/6s for this reason. Now that the playing field is a bit more even, we will most likely see people moving on to the S7. Add the additional expense that comes with an Apple product and the S7 seems like it could finally be on top.
