Cars like The Tesla Model 3 and Acura NSX have taken up a lot of headlines recently but don’t forget about the Audi R8 V10. The 2017 model has been met with some high remarks on style, performance, comfort and of course, power.
NEW AUDI R8 V10 BLOWS TESLA AWAY
For electric cars, the power that Tesla’s can bring is nothing to scoff at. That being said, it’s hard to compete with the Audi R8 V10. It provides 610 horsepower and 413 feet of torque. Aside from beating Tesla in that category, it may just have the upper hand in high-tech engineering. For example, the launch control and adjustable driving modes are quite impressive. Add the new rear wing for increased stability and driving the Audi R8 V10 at 180 miles per hour will feel like a breeze. It’s not recommended though (unless you’re at a race track). Speaking of a race, it’s safe to say this Audi would blow a Tesla away. The R8 V10 reaches 60 mph in less than 3 seconds.
COMFORT BEYOND ACURA NSX
Unless you’re a professional racecar driver, most people are concerned about the interior of a car just as much as performance. With a revamped design, the R8 V10 dabbles in luxury more than the supercar Acura NSX. Not to insult the Acura NSX, but the reason for this interior upgrade is Audi’s attempt to compete with the big boys. The German automakers are looking to take some market share from competitors BMW and Mercedes in 2017. That’s no easy task. In order to do so, the need to make their car fast, powerful as well as comfortable, luxurious and easy to drive. According to reviews, the R8 does just that.
IT’S NOT EASY GOING GREEN
One area that the Acura NSX and Tesla have the R8 beat is environmental friendliness. The R8 just couldn’t sacrifice the need for speed for a little green desire. The latest Acura NSX however, has deviated from the past. Their latest supercar is a hybrid that uses battery power to enhance both torque and acceleration. It may not beat the R8 in a race, but at least it’s helping to save the world.
