New Robot to Find Yellowstone Aliens

New Robot to Find Yellowstone Aliens Clapway

Just a few days ago, a webcam caught footage of a strange light over the Yellowstone National Park. UFO hunters quickly jumped on the opportunity to label this an occurrence of aliens. Despite any lack of evidence, this is not the first time UFO’s have been reported over the park. Yellowstone has been shrouded in mystery for years. Thanks to a new robot technology, hopefully, some of these questions can be answered.

IS YELLOWSTONE HIDING ALIENS?

Yellowstone is most famous for becoming the world’s first National Park more than a century ago. However, the Yellowstone that many people see when they visit is just a mere fraction of what the park has to offer. Much like the oceans of the Earth, the lakes of Yellowstone are mostly unexplored. Scientists are eager to record this deep unknown. Perhaps down there in the depths, aliens or new species of life will exist. The trouble is, it’s not exactly an easy task. For this reason, the Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration (GFOE) has developed a robot to do the dirty work.

YOGI THE BEAR GOES ROBOT

THE GFOE is a non-profit engineering group that aims to use robotic tools to explore the world’s ocean and lakes. In the case of Yellowstone, they are planning to build a robot. The aptly named “Yogi” will explore the towering rock formations, thermal vents and sweeping plains of the lake in hopes of finding information and maybe even aliens. Since the 1980’s, only one person has gone into the lake with robot technology, but Yogi seeks to change that.

EQUIPPED FOR EXPLORATION

If anything can find aliens in Yellowstone, it’s Yogi. Yogi is made to record HD video and will let scientists collect delicate geological, biological and chemical samples from the bottom of the lake. Yogi is about the size of a clothes washer and weighs about 600lbs. At this fairly manageable size, the robot can get to a depth of 4,920 feet using its 4 axial and 2 vertical thrusters. Yogi is equipped with multiple HD camera, 5 function electric manipulator for sample collection, a temperature sensor, acoustic navigation and more. Essentially, Yogi is readily equipped for exploration. Whether it will find aliens is yet to be seen, but we’ll never know until we try.
