The Russian’s may not be the powerful nation they once were but Vladimir Putin is trying to change that. Instead of putting a man on Mars or dominating at the 2016 Olympics, Ruskie scientists want to show their success in a new way.
PUTIN AND RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS WORK TO CHANGE THE WORLD
Say what you will about Putin but the man has gusto. Who else would think of bringing a wooly mammoth back to life? Take that Obama. The top Russian scientists have opened up a new lab devoted to studying extinct animal DNA. Hopefully, they will create clones from the remains of creatures in the permafrost. The lab is located in the world’s coldest city, Yakutsk. Besides the frigid temps, the lab has the largest collection of frozen, ancient animals in the world. In total, it has more than 2,000 remains from prehistoric animals like horse, foxes and of course, wooly mammoths.
RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS TO CREATE PUTIN ICON
If Putin can successfully bring a Wooly Mammoth back to life, this will certainly be his legacy. To do this, Russian scientists say they need the perfect body. By that, they mean a preserved mammoth that fell in thawed permafrost. As one can imagine, this is no easy task. For one, there is a lack of facilities in the country to deal with this operation. Furthermore, the inefficient bureaucracy in the region has made for a difficult process. Fortunately, there is a team of mammoth hunters in the tundra looking for various bones and tusks.
GET A WOOLY MAMMOTH LIKE PUTIN AND RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS
You’ve heard the legends, you’ve seen Ice Age 2 but do you really know what a wooly mammoth looks like? Well, prepare yourself. For example, get one of these Papo Wooly Mammoth models. The sturdy and firm plastic material are perfect to show a little kid. That way, they aren’t terrified when Russia builds their own army of communist wooly mammoths to take over the world. Although, the beats will not be happy with the warming climate.
