In Hinduism and Buddhism, Karma is the sum of a person’s actions in their previous existence decides their fate in the future. To put in simply, bad things happen to bad people. Usually, religion is disproved by scientists but here, we have a rare scenario of the opposite.
SCIENTISTS STUDY VIOLENT CRIME AND KARMA
In a recent study, scientists examined patients hospitalized for unintentional firearm injury. Hospital-based programs usually look at patients who’s gun injury happened through personal violence (assault). However, there’s less information regarding victims harmed by accidental gun injury. Hence, they want to see how violence happens before and after the gun injury. A controlled study took place in Washington for persons aged 15 years or older.
SCIENTISTS CONCLUDE KARMA IS REAL
In the results, scientists found that patients with unintentional gun injuries were more likely than those with other unintentional injuries to have a history of violent crime in the past. Furthermore, the same individuals were more likely to have been arrested than the other group. The facts don’t lie here. Science proves it. Those with violent pasts eventually get what’s coming to them. So keep that in mind.
DO WE NEED SCIENTISTS TO TELL US KARMA IS REAL?
While this study helps to support myth with fact, do we really need this data to tell us karma is real? Isn’t is common sense that bad people eventually get what they deserve? In today’s society, it might seem like the bad guys are winning but we don’t follow them around on a day to day basis. Sure, there are good people suffering but there are bad people suffering too. Being bad doesn’t mean you get a free pass. It just means you have a higher chance of getting what you deserve later in life. Being good might not get you the immediate fame and fortune of the criminal variety but in the long run, it’s probably better for you. So next time, hold that door open for the old lady behind you. Karma might be watching.
