New Apple TV Device Coming Mid-2015

If you haven’t heard, Apple TV has partnered with HBO to release some pretty amazing entertainment content, streaming right to your APPLE TV box device.  One of the highest rated TV shows in the past couple of years and certainly one of the leaders of what can be considered adventuresome, is Game of Thrones.  Nothing like a fantasy epic to get your travel spirit inspired.

Apple will show off another kind of New Apple TV box during the Worldwide Developers Conference this year. This will be paired up with the disclosure of a product expansion pack to let developers send apps to the set-top box. While Apple TV already has apps, these must be manually added, and this new piece of technology would send an App Store to the Apple TV, just like the App Store for iPhones and iPads do for iOS gear.

A type of Apple TV box has been around since it was first introduced in 2007. That TV box was meant to send iTunes material to a customer’s television. It was followed by subsequent systems that took away a requirement for space to be available on local devices and focused entirely on sending the content to the television. Since that time, there hasn’t been a new or upgraded Apple TV tool since the last one was introduced in 2012.

The Apple television box available today provides customers with access to iTunes material, as well as giving access to many different apps from using YouTube to HBO Go. In addition, customers can rent or buy movies and TV shows from the current Apple TV tool.

The Apple TV tool is expected to work with HBO’s new streaming only service, HBO Now. Thus, that would make the Apple TV tool the very first main TV streaming device that supports HBO Now, which would put it in high competition with Roku and Google’s Chromecast.

In the past, Steve Jobs, Apple’s co-founder, considered Apple TV to be a hobby and didn’t give much thought to the tool becoming popular or noticeable in the Apple organization. However, it would now appear that both he and the company itself were wrong, as the Apple TV device has so far sold more than 25 million units since it originally came out. Apple has also lowered its price from $99 to $69.

In addition, a report has come out in The Wall Street Journal assuring readers that Apple is working alongside the broadcast companies in order to produce an organization that allows a customer to stream various types of programming from a choice of suppliers, which would include broadcast stations like ABC, CBS and Fox. This ability would work on both the company’s iOS gear, as well as on Apple TV gadgets.

Reports also say that the new Apple TV box would go together with another type of configuration and have more storage space than the current device’s 8 gigabytes, since today’s apps require more capacity. The Apple TV tool would also add in a Siri voice control, as well as work with the Apple home automation system called Home Kit.

Pricing and other bits of information regarding this new Apple TV tool or its physical makeup have not been announced by Apple as yet. Plus, they haven’t announced an official release date.
