Tesla is like Apple But Slightly Better

Tesla is like Apple But Slightly Better Clapway

For the first time in 9 years, Apple iPhone sales are down. Overall the company’s revenue is down for the first time in 13 years. The company that reinvented the PC, the mp3 player, and the smartphone has lost its footing. Elon Musk and Tesla, on the other hand, have had much better luck than Apple. With numerous innovations, Tesla is changing the way people think about electric cars.

Apple: Rinse and Repeat

The last great innovation from Apple was the iPhone in 2007. In a time filled with flip-phones and keypads, the Apple iPhone introduced consumers to smartphones. Since then the iPhone has seen a handful of changes with annual releases, but nothing earth-shattering. With iPhone and iPad sales declining, and the Apple Watch’s success still in question, the once mighty tech innovator has hit the wall.

Tesla Changing the Electric Car Game

Tesla has only been around for 13 years, but, in that time, they have made their mark on the electric car market. In 2015, the Tesla Model S was the top-selling plug-in electric car in America with over 25,000 units sold. The Tesla Model 3 was just revealed in March, but the automaker has already received 400,000 reservations for the new model. The new model won’t hit the roads until 2017.

The Man, the Myth, the Legend

Compared to the endeavors of Elon Musk, Apple’s latest developments have been tame. Musk has led Tesla through its recent success with his outside of the box thinking. He is also leading SpaceX on a mission to colonize Mars. Musk believes with advancements in reusable launch systems, SpaceX can shuttle one million people to Mars for colonization by 2035. With Apple struggling, it may be time for them to consider taking a page from the book of Elon Musk.
