Youtube Goes Google News: 3 things you didn’t know Clapway

Up until now, YouTube has made a success off of videos for the most part. Now, they want to expand their horizons a bit and unite their community in a new, creative way. The feature will essentially become a Google-like newsfeed for every channel. Here are three things to know about it.

1. YOUTUBE WANTS TO GO SOCIAL LIKE FACEBOOK AND GOOGLE NEWS

No one ever thought that YouTube wanted in on the social network game. However, since everyone is doing it these days, they’re going for it. Apparently, crazy dashcam videos and cute cats just weren’t enough for the video platform. They want to enhance the bond between video makers and their fans. To do this, they will use a new set of social networking features. It will be like a Google news feed for a video channel.

2. GOOGLE NEWS FEED COMES TO YOUTUBE

The main part of the new “Youtube Community” is a tab that will appear on every channel. The function will be like a Google news feed for that particular video maker. It will let them post text updates, GIFS, live videos, pictures and more to their subscribers. All this info will show up in the subscription feeds of their fans. Furthermore, they can choose to get a notification when there’s a new post. Hence, fans will never miss a news beat with their favorite entertainers.

3. YOUTUBE COMMUNITY GOES SIMPLE LIKE GOOGLE NEWS

Compared to other social networking tools out there, this one is fairly simple. In reality, it’s just a glorified timeline. That being said, this will allow the popular video platform to compete with their rivals who have had these features for a while. The Community feature is still in beta as it’s being tested by popular bloggers like The Key of Awesome, AsapSCIENCE, Hank green, Vsauce3 and much more.
