Calling all Elizabeth Gallaghers! A free three-week holiday with stops at Paris, Bangkok, New Delhi, and more beckons your name—only if you’re from Canada, that is.
After booking round-the-world plane tickets for him and his girlfriend, Jordan Axani is now single. But rather than ridding himself of the extra ticket, he doesn’t want it to go to waste.
“In March I booked a fairly wicked trip around the world for this Christmas for my ex and I,” he explained on his Reddit post which asked users for help. “While our relationship has come to a close, I am still planning on going on the trip and she is not (naturally).”
“And because I hate the idea of a ticket around the world going to waste, I am looking for a Canadian named Elizabeth Gallagher who could use the ticket.”
So, why his ex’s specific name? Why not change the name, or even, sell the ticket?
“Anyone familiar with with the archaic system that is modern air travel will know that a name change on a ticket is damn near impossible,” he said. “Moreover, the flights were purchased during a massive blow-up on Priceline and were frankly so cheap and on so many different airlines that they’re not worth the headache or money to cancel.”
The once in a lifetime route is as follows and includes other flights not listed:
December 21: NYC to Milan
December 28: Prague to Paris
December 29: Paris to Bangkok
January 7: Bangkok to New Dehli
January 8: New Dehli to Toronto
Axani notes that he’s not looking for a replacement girlfriend or anything romantic at all. The 27-year-old simply wants someone – that is legally named Elizabeth Gallagher and bares a Canadian passport- who is up for “traveling together and seeing some cool stuff.”
“I am not looking for anything in return. I am not looking for companionship, romance, drugs, a trade, or to take selfies with you in front the Christmas Market in Prague,” he told Reddit. “If you feel compelled to toss me a couple hundred bucks, great. Really the only thing I ask for is that you enjoy this trip and that it bring you happiness.”
However, not all is paid for, stating that only the flights are free, and that while he is fine with traveling together with the new companion – and without – hotels, trains, and all else have not been booked. “You’re on your own, bucko,” he said.
So far, Axani says he has received thousands of emails from all around the world in response to his Reddit listing, counting “dozens of emails from Elizabeths who are Canadian.”
