Singapore’s Bukit Timah Nature Reserve to Re-Open

Singapore’s Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is now officially open again to the public. After undergoing several months of renovations, part of the reserve is now ready to be shown to the world. The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, found in Hindede, is a great place for nature lovers to go in order to experience the best of Singapore’s flora and fauna. It is home to more than 40 percent of the nation’s total wildlife and gives viewers an inside look at some very unique creatures.

The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve has been undergoing renovations since September 2014, and while the full project is not yet completed, it will be opened again to the public on the weekends. Anyone who wishes to visit the reserve must use the Hindede entrance as the Dairy Farm Nature Park that was once used for access as well is currently still undergoing renovation work.

The goal for the government of Singapore is that by completing the necessary renovations for their majestic Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, they will promote conservation efforts and draw more people to visit their country. The work that is being done on the reserve will help provide new attractions for visitors, such as an exhibition hall and a fully-equipped visitor centre. There will also be more practical renovations done on the property, such as increasing the amount of restrooms available.

The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is a huge part of the conservation efforts that are being done in Singapore right now. It helps to protect and provide a safe place for all of Singapore’s magnificent trees, flowers, plants, and animals to grow and thrive. There are over 10,000 species of plants that call this Reserve home along with many different types of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles that you can see when you visit.

There are many advantages for the country in having the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve back up and running. Along with benefitting all of the species of plants and animals that call it home, the hope is that it will help boost the country’s reputation as a conservation activist. The other purpose for this is to increase Singapore’s tourism, and to boost its economy along with it.

By providing a great home for all of the wonderful trees, plants, and animals of Singapore, the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is truly a safe haven amongst all of the deforestation and endangered animals issues that are going on today. By providing the majestic wildlife a Singapore a home and by helping to boost the tourism for Singapore, everyone is able to walk away happy.

For safety reasons, only a portion of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is currently available while the rest of the reserve undergoes renovations. The idea is that once the renovations are completed, visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience Singapore as it was long before all of the buildings and construction that it has undergone. With untouched forests, and beautiful untamed nature, it will truly give visitors an experience of a lifetime. The current schedule is to be open on weekends from 7am to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
