Google has partnered up with well-known DJ and music producer, Skrillex, to produce a brand new line of Android phone limited edition cases. In fact, they have even launched their own weather satellite and live wallpaper application to promote the new limited edition cases. People use phone cases to keep their phones safe as they travel or just go about their daily lives.
The weather balloon satellite is named after DJ Skrillex’s dog, Nanou. The Nanou satellite’s job is to take pictures of the Earth and beam them down to the live application that goes along with the limited edition cases for Android phones.
Skrillex Has a Love of Space Shows in Phone Application
DJ Skrillex is said to have a love for all things space related, and the new app will feature shots of the constellations in the user’s geographical area at night. If they travel to a new location, it will update as required, and throughout the day, the app updates with new pictures of the Earth taken from the satellite. The app also provides a button on the wallpaper that can be customized for shortcut access to any webpage or app. When the weather balloon with the satellite comes back to Earth eventually, DJ Skrillex says that he will autograph the device and some lucky fan will get to have it as their own.
Limited Edition Cases for Android Available at Google Store
The new limited edition cases for Android will each cost $40 and they come in three different styles. Users can buy the limited edition cases from the Google. The limited edition cases are available for phones such as the Nexus 5 and 6, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Each of these limited edition cases will be numbered, so they are more valuable in the future, and they will be sold until the end of June or when supplies run out.
DJ Skrillex Fans Will Get Exclusive Content with Purchase
Along with the phone case and app, the purchase will also provide access to Skrillex’s favorite OWSLA artists. Exclusive content will be sent right to their phones. One of these deals is that the owners of the limited edition cases won’t have to travel far to buy any new OWSLA artist albums, as they will be given first dibs to buy these. OWSLA is a vanity label of musician’s albums that DJ Skrillex owns.
