Cookie Monster Issues Response to Siri’s Scathing Rant

Siri, the Apple voice response system that exists to answer all of the universe’s most complex queries, has proven herself to be not necessarily the answer to every question. However, since her coming into being in Apple devices in 2010 she has proved to be endlessly entertaining for IOS device users. Siri has once again found herself in the social media spotlight, this time due to an ongoing feud between herself, and the iconic blue Sesame Street character known as Cookie Monster.

Siri gives scathing response to impossible math question

Everything started when “Breaking Bad” Star Aaron Paul asked his 2.5 million Twitter followers to ask Siri the solution to the math equation zero divided by zero. The conclusion of this equation is an indeterminate number with no solution, because zero multiplied by any number or divided by any number remains zero, the equation is undefined, and therefore is what is known as an indeterminate form.

Siri responds stating that the number is indeterminate, but the female voiced A.I. doesn’t stop there. Siri lashes out at the question stating, “Imagine that you have zero cookies and you split them evenly among zero friends. How many cookies does each person get? See? It doesn’t make sense. And Cookie Monster is sad that there are no cookies, and you are sad that you have no friends.” You can watch the reaction here.

Cookie monster issues his response

The blue monster with a sweet tooth took to twitter to issue a response to the rather rude Siri stating, “Me no know how to divide by zero, but me know how to divide cookies into crumbs!”. This has all caught the attention of the media world and turned the hashtag #cookiemonster into a trending topic.

Since Cookie Monster was created by Jim Henson in 1966, he has had his share of controversy, including an episode where due to criticism of his diet, he declares his love for fruits and vegetables and cookies are only a snack he enjoys sometimes. Facing off against A.I. is a first for Cookie Monster, but his voracious appetite has stood the test of time, and it would take a lot more than Siri to affect the love felt over the years for this hungry monster.
