Xiaomi’s fitness tracker, the Mi Band, has just been given an upgrade that includes a sturdier wrist band, a new battery and a heart rate monitor. The upgraded device, which costs only $16 and was first introduced in July 2014, has been labeled the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse, and it’ll be available alter this month.
The first installment of the Xiaomi Mi Band was found to be particularly weak as opposed to other fitness trackers, but this will be much harder to break. Its battery will last around 20 days, it’s water and dust resistant and it can pair with any smartphone running on Android 4.4 or higher, and any iPhones with iOS 7 or higher. The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse has a pill centerpiece, which comes in black or silver, and the bracelets in black, pale blue or pastel pink, giving for a stylish finish and a simplistic design that’s similar yet different from its competitors. And with the FitBit fitness bracelets between $30-$240, it proves as a good alternative that is a fraction of the price.
The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse is set to come out on November 11 in China, but hopefully it’ll soon be available in other countries, as Xiaomi tends to spread their reach with their devices. The item is available to be imported as well.
