As society continues to dive deeper into “low brow” entertainment like PornHub and YouJizz, many think that the finer aspects of art and culture will become smothered in our sticky bodily fluids. The Opera doesn’t think so. They believe they can still win over new audiences without the use of sex and drugs , but instead, with just a quality product. Society will be the judge of that one, meanwhile, YouTube continues to go their own way.
OPERA TO STAND UP AGAIN PORNHUB And YOUJIZZ
With a quick glance around society, one would think we are completely obsessed with tits and cocaine. Popularity amongst sites like PornHub and YouJizz are at an all time high but does that mean other forms of art can not sustain themselves underneath the sludgy, sweaty underbelly of sin? Sebastian Schwarz, the director of the Glyndebourne opera believes there is nothing to worry about. He’s a firm believer that the opera will stand the test of time without selling out to marketing gimmicks like PornHub’s VR headset or YouJizz’s…jizz. In fact, moves like that can backfire.
IS CONSERVATIVE CULTURE COOL NOW?
Schwarz stated that a failed attempt to put sex and drugs in the opera is a sign of changing times. Youthful audiences may turn to PornHub and YouJizz occasionally, but apparently, that does not define their culture. Schwarz says conservatism is making a cum-back. There is still a desire to see innocence and beauty in the opera without being risque. The youth of the world is often characterized as being shallow, spoiled and soulless, however, they still want quality entertainment outside PornHub, YouJizz and Youtube.
YOUTUBE CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE
YouTube is one of the largest sources of entertainment these days. They promote everything from porn to Stravinsky and everything in between. For that reason, YouTube can not really have an opinion on the matter. They have the impossible task of pleasing everybody. Sure, they could go the route of porn or sports to make money, but the fact they are an open platform for every kind of weird entertainment out there makes them unique. What YouTube represents is the world’s opinion. They stand for every kind of person and will continue to do so until the NSA takes over the world and censors the internet.
