APPLE IPHONE KICKS OUT SONY BRINGS IN LG
Rumors have been leaked suggesting that Sony may abe running behind in terms of supplying Apple with their new dual-lens camera for the iPhone 7. Instead of waiting it out, some believe that Apple will instead go to LG as their new supplier of dual-lens camera modules for upcoming smartphones. Seeing as the highly anticipated feature might include VR and a wealth of other advanced features, this could be bad news for Sony. Apple fans could hardly care less as a new YouTube leak shows just how powerful the new camera will be.
YOUTUBE VIDEO GENERATES HYPE OVER VR CAMERA
So what’s so cool about having two cameras? Well, that’s exactly what a recent YouTube video hopes to explain. One camera will act as your standard camera that we have come to know and love on iPhone’s in the past. The other camera will allow for an optical zoom like effect without having any moving parts. For example, say you are filming your dog Fido in your bag yard smelling his own poop. Using your new Apple smartphone with dual lens camera, two screens will pop up. One will just be a normal frame while the other will be a high quality, zoomed in version. Users can move around the frame of the zoomed in picture to specifically dictate what exactly they want to zoom in on. In layman’s terms, you can have a higher quality picture with more control. If YouTube hasn’t helped generate enough excitement yet, think about the possibility of VR.
VIRTUAL REALITY GOING HANDHELD
According to the release, VR efforts might be making their way to the iPhone 7. The aforementioned YouTube video touched on this a little bit, but the secret behind the iPhone’s VR will lie within the zoom. By taking images in telephoto up to three times zoom, systems could be developed to scan real-world objects into a virtual world. Also, depth-sensing capabilities could help created augmented reality apps. At the moment, none of this is confirmed but keep an eye out for more leaks as the release date closes in.
